IMPACT BONDING WELDING
Impact bonding welding is a method to weld two metals without the addition of a solder alloy, as occurs in brazing where a low melting alloy joins two different types of metal. The two metals to be joined are heated up to the softening temperature of the metal with a lower melting point and welding occurs by compressing the parts in a manner that the “soft” metal penetrates the crystalline structure of the second, remaining “stuck”. This method is widely used to weld metal sandwiches together as the heat diffusing bottoms of stainless steel pans.
